With January 2017 already upon us, today marks the start of London Men’s Fashion Week. Hot tickets this season include J.W. Anderson (as ever), Chalayan and David Beckham backed brand Kent & Curwen.
While we can wait to see what the catwalks have to deliver, we aren’t going to let the boys have all the fun. Read on for our top three tips adding a sartorial edge to your wardrobe.
1. Invest in a white shirt. Perfect as a standalone item, or layered under dresses, jumpers or gilets a crisp white shirt has long been a wardrobe staple. Not a fan of cotton? Opt for a flowing silk number, which funnily enough, can be purchased from G&G! Go bespoke and choose your own collar, neckline, cuff and button-hole.
2. Spice up your wardrobe with a bit of tweed. Tweed is such a versatile, unique and hard-wearing fabric, we want to see more it in women wardrobes. The different colours woven through the fabric mean that tweed can be worn with a variety of outfits, making it a true investment.
3. And finally, don’t be afraid of tailoring! Men are always having their clothes altered or taken in, and women should do the same. Buy a size up so your tailor will have plenty of fabric to work with. Wearing clothes that actually fit is a true revelation.
Wishing everyone a wonderful start to January.
