Tailoring Tips for Surviving the Heatwave

☀️ Our top tailoring tips for surviving a heatwave at work (while still looking effortlessly polished)

As tailors, we've learnt that staying cool isn't just about the fabric you choose -it's the little construction details that make all the difference.

1. Look for clever construction.

You can opt for your jackets to feature discreet, removable underarm sweat pads that attach with poppers. They're washable, replaceable and help keep your jacket feeling fresh throughout the summer. We can even encase them in the silk to match your lining. It's one of those hidden details you'll never see, but you'll definitely appreciate.

2. Choose breathable fabrics over less fabric.

A lightweight, open-weave linen allows air to circulate around the body, helping regulate temperature while still looking beautifully tailored.

3. A silk layer works harder than you think.

A silk camisole or wide-strap top naturally regulates temperature, absorbs moisture better than many synthetic fibres and skims the body without clinging.

4. Don't shy away from tailoring.

A softly constructed linen jacket with minimal padding and lightweight canvassing can actually feel cooler than a close fitting cardigan or synthetic blazer, while instantly making an outfit feel polished.

5. Let your clothes breathe.

A relaxed silhouette is your friend. Wide-leg trousers, an unstructured jacket and a little room through the body allow air to circulate, making a surprising difference on hot days.

The secret to dressing well in a heatwave isn't wearing less - it's wearing garments that have been thoughtfully designed to work with the weather.
